About
I’ve always had a love and fascination for handmade crafts for as long as I can remember, ranging from small, handcrafted item, to larger industrial and sculptural pieces. To me these items are lovingly crafted with skill, passion and attention to detail, and I have always had admiration for the makers who made them and what they do.

As a maker I consider myself lucky that blacksmithing found me as a 14 year old dyslexic lad, when I was asked by the local blacksmith in the village that I grew up in to help him at his forge in Cockington, Torquay. And from that moment on I knew that this was what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I then spent every spare opportunity attending blacksmithing courses, offering to help local blacksmiths and welders, as well as attending local forge-in events. Then in 2005 I was lucky enough to be accepted onto what was then known as the NETS forge work course at the National School of blacksmithing in Hereford which is at the forefront of blacksmith training here in the UK.

Having been born and raised in the Devon countryside I have been surrounded by nature my whole life. And this is where I like to draw my inspiration from with the ironwork that I like to make.
